Marketing your REI BusinessMarketing your REI Business is not a one-time event. It’s an ongoing process. However, what I have found over the years, is that for a whole lot of investors their marketing resembles a horse race; a one-time event.  Here’s what I mean by that.

In horse racing, it’s a sprint. The horses get to the starting gate, then they run down the track as fast as they can to get to the finish line.  When a horse gets to the finish line, they’re done. The event is over until the next horse race.  That’s the way a lot of investors think about marketing.

Does this Sound a Little Like You?

Do you rush to get your direct mail out, work on your website so it will generate more leads, hit a few networking events or furiously nail up some bandit signs one week? Then you completely lose your focus the next week? If that sounds like you, you’re not alone.

What Happened After that Rush of Marketing?

Maybe you cleaned and organized your office.  Boy, that felt good.  Later you went to the office supply store and got another case of paper.  After all it was on sale. You also got some new colored file folders to make your filing system look even better.  Then you did a whole bunch of other non-revenue generating activities.

You get the picture.  Whatever happened, you didn’t get your marketing done again this week. Marketing is a revenue generating activity. If you don’t get leads in the door, you’ll be out of business in no time. Remember that marketing is always your #1 priority.
