Procrastination isn't always bad. Putting something off for a few days or in some cases a few weeks has worked to my advantage a number of times over the years. In some cases even a short “timeout” lets us see something we would have missed if we continued rushing toward our goal. It gives us time to find clarity in a particular situation.
If you find yourself a chronic procrastinator you need to ask yourself why.
- Why are you always doing that?
- Have you settled into a pattern of procrastination?
- Maybe you have gotten just a little bit lazy when it comes to some things so you just put them off.
If you are always putting off the same thing time and time again, that may be a sign that you need to “call it off”. Maybe that goal no longer serves you, or it is a task you should just simply outsource.
