Real Estate Investing Marketing in 2013 – What Is Working Now

June 14, 2013 in Guest Posts, Investing In Real Estate

Real Estate Investing Marketing in 2013 - What Is Working Now

I have a guest post today from my friend and fellow real estate investor, Brian Haskins. Brian has put together some great information about finding deals and “What's working now in 2013”. Put some of these strategies to work and watch your business grow!

The real estate investing business is always changing and 2013 has been no different. One thing we find in today's market is the introduction of large conglomerates and big hedge funds buying up tons of inventory.  If you find yourself relying solely on the MLS for your deals you may have found your deal pool shrinking lately. It seems the few people that are lucky enough to stay in front of the curve and thrive in these changing markets have always diversified their marketing efforts. In this article I am going to reveal to you some simple ways to diversify your marketing portfolio so you can excel in the ever changing real estate market when others fail.

I had the opportunity recently to talk real estate with my friend Chris Bruce for his podcast series “Escape the Newbie Zone”. If you haven't had a chance to check out this new series of podcasts, you definitely need to do that and I will put the links below.

Chris started his business in 2009 in Tampa Florida, and it has grown at a phenomenal rate. Not only is Chris a seasoned investor but he is a dad, an author, an internet marketer and a coach. I was honored to be asked to be a guest on his podcast series.

In this Podcast…

In this podcast we will be talking about two of my favorite strategies which are probates and absentee owners, and why I love these strategies so much. I like to call these niches the “Low Hanging Fruit”. Some of the things we will talk about are: Read the rest of this entry →

Interview with Al Jones

August 15, 2012 in Investing In Real Estate, Investing in Real Estate, Videos

Do You Have What It Takes?

YES YOU DO!

Recently I was asked to do an interview with my friend and fellow real estate investor Al Jones.  Al is a minister as well as a real estate investor in Orlando, Florida.  It was great getting to spend some time talking real estate with Al,  and also hearing about his business and some of the challenges he faces.

One of the things we talked about, was that many of the women he knows just don't believe they can do this business.  That is not simply true! He says that they lack the basic confidence to even begin.  I believe that we have all known that kind of fear at sometime in our life.

So what separates the ones who ultimately succeed from the rest?

I think it all boils down to one thing; “We feel the fear but do it anyway”. You have to be willing to walk through the fire and know that you will come out on the other side. If your confidence needs a boost, check out this article “Success Is A State of Mind” after watching the interview.

So how do you do that?

I believe that it comes down to three main things:

  • First of all, you have to get some education, and you can get if without spending a lot of money.  You can get books and DVD's at the library. There also are a wealth of blogs like this one and sites like BiggerPockets.com where you can get a great education completely free.  Become a “life long learner”.
  • Secondly, you need to find a mentor; someone that can help you when the paralyzing fear sets in.  One of the best places to find a mentor is at your local REIA (Real Estate Investors Association). Just look online for a list of all of the real estate clubs in your area.
  • Finally, you absolutely must take action. Nothing will happen if you don't take consistent, focused action. Just take baby steps toward your goal, and you will get there.  Read the rest of this entry →

How It Makes You Money

Direct Mail Marketing – A Conversation With Lolita Sheriow

February 13, 2012 in Investing In Real Estate, Marketing, Probates/ Probate Investing

What's working Now?

What's Working for Me Now?

I had the great pleasure recently of talking about direct mail marketing and what's working now with my friend Lolita Sheriow or “Lo” as everyone calls her. Lo is nothing short of a real estate superstar in Texas. She is one of the most dynamic, passionate entrepreneurs I have come across in a long time. She is a real estate investor, internet marketer, and a motivational speaker to name just a few.

Her blog “REI How To's” has a ton of good information on it, so I encourage you to stop by after you listen to the interview we did. There is a link at the bottom of the page.

I apologize in advance for the dog that was outside my office that barked the entire time (which he does for long periods of time each day). I think of myself as a fairly good problem solver, but that is one problem I have not been able to solve to date (without resorting to violence).

Take a few minutes and listen to the interview. You can listen here.

Be sure to stop by her blog “REI How Tos”.  You can find it here.
