I have people ask me this question all the time: “How do I find time for marketing”?
The short answer is you don't “find it”. You don't wait for it to “show up”. Marketing has to be on the top of your to-do list, and you have schedule this time for marketing every day.
So here's a little tough love for you. Marketing is your #1 job before anything else. You won't have any houses to look at if you don't have a marketing plan that you implement consistently.
What about negotiation? Everyone needs to get better at this, right? You have to have potential deals before you ever need to know how to negotiate one deal.
Everything is Important
Lead generation, running comps, marketing, branding, negotiation, talking to sellers; these (and a million more) are all skills that you need to develop. However at the end of the day, everything starts with lead generation. It all begins and ends with marketing. If you're going to be successful in this business, you have to find time for marketing which involves planning and focus.
Make a plan and put everything on a marketing calendar. That's how it happens.
