What's the secret to your success? It believe that it just might be writing down your goals (as opposed to simply thinking about them).
Dr. Gail Matthews, a psychology professor at the Dominican University in California, found that you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals and dreams, simply by writing them down on a regular basis.
Today's post is the next part of this series on setting goals for 2018 that get results, and I have just one quick exercise for you today.
I would like you to take out a piece of paper and write down 3 or 4 big goals you want to accomplish in the next 12 months. (Remember, no more than 3 or 4). The reason for this is when you have too many goals, it often just becomes overwhelming and you end up doing nothing. There is a good chance you're just setting yourself up to fail.
Now I'm not suggesting you don't have big goals. When your writing down your goals, they should be a stretch. They should make you uncomfortable. In fact, if they don't feel challenging you need to go back to the drawing board and do the process over.
Let's face it, anyone can set goals. However actually accomplishing those goals is a whole different matter. That's what we'll be talking about in the next post.
